When we adopted Zulu it was because I desperately missed having a purring cat on my lap. Zulu does lay on my lap, for about 30 seconds. He’s very bonded to….the dog. He and Lucy have become quite a team. He’s been outside a couple of times, he insisted. Apparently that was enough for him. But…when Lucy goes out he runs to the window and watches her worriedly until she comes back in. It’s adorable! He doesn’t want out, and he doesn’t want her out either!
He follows her everywhere, lays on her, grooms her, all the things. He even eats her food and drinks her water. The fancy cat fountain we bought him? Wasted. Watching them is the cutest thing, I love it!
We enjoy Zulu’s company very much. He’s so fun to play with! On Friday nights one of my grandkids always spends the night, they do a great job of wearing him out, which I appreciate very much. We’ve considered getting another cat to play with him, but honestly, he really doesn’t like other cats. If he’s looking out a window and someone’s cat is walking down the street he’s growling and his tail is puffed up and he yowls. Because he’s upset the dog gets upset and starts barking and that’s just to much drama so for now, he’s an only cat.
He’s a fun, well adjusted kitty with no manners whatsoever. He bites too, but we’ve been working on that. He’s still rough with my husband but getting better. He still hangs out with me when I shower, loudly. He screams at me the whole time until i get out, as if warning me of danger. Then he rubs all over my wet legs.
We love him and his quirks very much. I love coming home at night to find him and the dog waiting for me at the door. Lucy goes out to potty, Zulu chats me up. I love playing his favorite game with him. I live watching him cuddle with Lucy (although I’m envious of it), I love his company during the shower, I love this crazy cat.
All is well with him.
